For The Love Of Dogs

The Bone Adventure Story

The Bone Adventure opened it’s doors in 2003. Now, with two Costa Mesa locations and over 60 employees, we are proud to be the dog care choice to thousands of individuals and families who have busy and demanding schedules but still want the companionship of a well-adjusted dog. Socialization and exercise are the primary factors contributing to a dog’s well being, and we strive to provide this in a safe, clean, and fun environment.

The company has had strong, but gradual growth, by design. The most important asset we have is our employees. It takes time for employees to learn this business, and we have selected people who not only love animals, but have the ambition and talent to be able to build an environment that maintains the “fun” factor, and also remains safe and clean for the dogs and our staff.

Heather Spencer
Heather SpencerOverlay Manager
Hi there! I’m Heather, and I’ve been part of The Bone family since 2010. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2017 with a degree in Child Development and a minor in Natural Science. While I originally set out to become a science teacher, I quickly discovered that my true passion lies in working with your amazing pups every day.

Since stepping into a management role in 2019, it’s been an absolute joy to help care for your fur babies and ensure they get all the love, attention, and playtime they deserve. And if you’ve ever glanced into the office, you might’ve caught a glimpse of my trusty assistant, Teddy—my Shih Tzu mix—holding down the fort while I’m away. He takes his job (and his naps) very seriously!

Zack Lowe
Zack LoweOverlay Manager
Zack has been part of the Bone Adventure crew since 2011. He is a proud owner of a 7-year-old husky named Rand. When Zack is not at the Bone, he enjoys watching films, playing video games, and playing PokemonGO.
Freddy Ramos
Freddy RamosOverlay Manager
Freddy loves spending his time outdoors, whether it’s off-roading, camping, or hiking new trails. He’s a proud dad to three boys and has a soft spot for anything with a remote control, from RC cars to drones. At home, he’s always got the company of his dog, Milo, and his cat, Yuki.
Celeste Ramos
Celeste RamosBack-end Manager
I have been at The Bone Adventure for ten years! I have always adored animals growing up and I always knew I wanted my career to be animal related. I started off as a dog handler before becoming the Back-end Manager and I have been lucky to be part of this team witnessing TBA dogs go from puppies/young dogs to senior dogs. I am also a mom to a two-year-old boy so if I am not here at The Bone Adventure, I am spending quality time with my son and dogs. I love the outdoors so when I do get a chance I love hiking, off roading, and camping. “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened” – Anatole France
Renee LaMontagne
Renee LaMontagneOperations Manager
Hi! My name is Renee and I have loved dogs since I was a little girl; always hanging out with my cousin’s golden retriever at the family parties. I grew up in HB and went to the University of California, Irvine for Sociology and Quantitative Economics, specializing in Inequality. I was never sure what I wanted to do, but it was a dream when I became a Boner in 2021! Now, it is my absolute pleasure to play with your dogs and help you with any invoicing or package questions you may have.
In my free time, I love baking (cookies are my specialty!), traveling (South America is my favorite <3), spending time with friends, building Lego kits, and being outdoors. One of my favorite things to do is go on hikes with my sweet, crazy girl, Lucyfur (my 7 year old lab/pit mix). If you see me while dropping off your pup, please let me know if you have any hiking spot suggestions!
